A man infiltrates a company that writes thought to order, and finds something older than the company waiting inside the work. ## Free will, authored. A thriller about who is holding the pen. Echoes follows Oliafor into a firm that scripts the inner voice — the small, persuasive narration people mistake for their own. The deeper he reaches, the less the firm looks like the author and the more it looks like the instrument. ![Interior, low key, a desk and a window.](/assets/images/echoes/plate-1.jpg) ![A corridor receding into shadow.](/assets/images/echoes/plate-2.jpg) > The voice you trust most is the one you never chose. Development is ongoing: treatment, look development and a proof-of-concept sequence shot on a Blackmagic pipeline graded to an Arri-classic finish. ![A wide, near-silhouette frame against a pale ceiling.](/assets/images/echoes/plate-3.jpg) --- # Dance with the Nation - Category: music videos - Year: 2025 - Status: In production - Tape: VHS-0002 - Discipline: Music Video - Artist: Alan Chan - Role: Director, Editor, Grade - Year: 2025 A music video for Alan Chan. A single performance carried from a grey office into a festival-scale crowd, built from multi-angle footage. ## One room becomes a crowd of thousands. The cut moves from the flat light of an office to the scale of a main stage without a seam, holding one performance across both worlds. ![Performer half-lit.](/assets/images/dance-with-the-nation/plate-1.jpg) ![Hands raised in a crowd.](/assets/images/dance-with-the-nation/plate-2.jpg) ![Wide festival frame at dusk.](/assets/images/dance-with-the-nation/plate-3.jpg) --- # The Corner - Category: graphic design - Year: 2025 - Status: Delivered - Tape: VHS-0003 - Discipline: Graphic Design - Client: The Corner - Role: Identity, Art Direction - Year: 2025 Identity for a square-pizza food truck. A five-colour system, a condensed display face, and a diagonal slash that does the work of a logo. ## A square pizza needs a square voice. The brand is built from one move — a diagonal slash — and a palette named for its ingredients: crust, San Marzano, fior di latte, basil, aged parmesan. ![Logotype on a coloured field.](/assets/images/the-corner/plate-1.jpg) ![Packaging detail.](/assets/images/the-corner/plate-2.jpg) ![The truck livery in context.](/assets/images/the-corner/plate-3.jpg) --- # Firestarter - Category: illustration - Year: 2025 - Status: In progress - Tape: VHS-0004 - Discipline: Illustration - Format: Graphic novel · in progress - Role: Writer, Illustrator - Year: 2025 A graphic novel set in a sealed lunar dome, where a woman destroys the plants that quietly make the air. Ink, mask, and the politics of breathing. ## Who owns the air owns the city. A dome where status is worn on the face — masked or bare — and the only honest currency is breath. The line work stays heavy and graphic, closer to a printing block than a pencil. ![Two figures in silhouette.](/assets/images/firestarter/plate-1.jpg) ![A dome interior page.](/assets/images/firestarter/plate-2.jpg) > In a place that sells the air, breathing is a position. ![A spread of inked panels.](/assets/images/firestarter/plate-3.jpg) --- # Nightworks - Category: photography - Year: 2025 - Status: Ongoing - Tape: VHS-0005 - Discipline: Photography - Format: Series · ongoing - Role: Photographer - Year: 2025 An ongoing series photographed after dark in London — the city read by the light it leaves on. ## The city, read by the light it leaves on. Shot handheld between the last train and the first, with no added light. What the street gives is what the frame keeps. ![Reflection on wet tarmac.](/assets/images/nightworks/plate-1.jpg) ![A lit window across a dark yard.](/assets/images/nightworks/plate-2.jpg) ![A figure crossing under a lamp.](/assets/images/nightworks/plate-3.jpg) --- # On finishing - Date: 2026-02-18 - Field: Notebook For most of the history of making things, completeness was expensive. The last ten percent of a film, a record, a book — the grade, the mix, the proof — cost more than the first ninety. So we learned to stop early and call it taste. That economics has changed. The marginal cost of carrying a piece of work all the way to done is now close to nothing. Which removes the excuse, and leaves the question: if it's cheap to finish, why is it still unfinished? ## Usually the honest answer is that you were never going to. This studio is built around the opposite default. Finish the thing. Then decide what it is. --- # The look before the explanation - Date: 2026-01-09 - Field: Criticism Walk into a good gallery and the label is small, low, and late. You meet the painting first. The wall trusts you to look before it explains. Most portfolios do the reverse. A paragraph of context, a list of credits, then — if you've survived the preamble — the work. It is the order of someone who doesn't trust the work to hold a stranger's attention on its own. > Context is a reward for curiosity, not a toll on it. So here the work opens cold. No paragraph, no metadata, no apology. The looking comes first. If you want to know who made it and why, that's a page-scroll away.
